Dr. Jeff Carpenter
Ultrasonographer
Dr. Carpenter joined the team at Commonwealth Vet at the end of 2021 after more than 10 years of work in clinical veterinary medicine in Massachusetts. Before beginning his career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Carpenter earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Colgate University in 1997 and spent time at UMass studying in the field of immunology and virology. He ultimately left the research field with his MS to pursue his doctorate in veterinary medicine at Tufts Veterinary School. Prior to entering Tufts Veterinary School, he did a brief stint with ABC News writing medical stories for their website, as well as two years in the biotech industry working on a cancer vaccine.
After graduating from Tufts Veterinary School in 2008, Dr. Carpenter began working in general practice here in Massachusetts. After being in practice for more than 10 years, he decided to pursue a new goal. Dr. Carpenter’s advanced ultrasonography skills have enabled us to provide this important diagnostic tool right here at CVH. Starting in 2024, Dr Carpenter moved out of general practice and now provides advanced diagnostic imaging full-time.
In his spare time, Dr. Carpenter enjoys spending time with his wife, his dog Sammy, and his cat Max. He is also an amateur wildlife photographer whose work can be seen at www.jeffcarpenter.photography.
